Homemade Mayonnaise
Ingredients (Makes about 250 ml)
- 1 fresh egg, room temperature
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar
- 200 ml olive oil or sunflower oil
- Salt, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place the egg, mustard, lemon juice (or vinegar), salt, and pepper into a tall blending container.
- Pour in the oil.
- Insert an immersion blender and place it at the bottom of the container.
- Turn on the blender and keep it at the bottom for 10-15 seconds, until the mixture thickens.
- Slowly move the blender upward until the mayonnaise is fully emulsified.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
